Overindulgence continued...
After indulging in ASOS, I also indulged in some shopping at Whole Foods Market. My eyes were drawn to this beautiful, bone-in rib eye while browsing the meat department.
I wanted to try a spice rub after watching Iron Chef Bobby Flay on Iron Chef America. The rub consisted of salt, pepper, cumin, paprika, chili, onion, and garlic powder.
Here comes the overindulgence...I wanted to accompany the rib eye with a blue cheese/onion sauce inspired by The Pioneer Woman.
I sliced the onions slightly larger than stated in the recipe...
With a little butter, I waited for the onions to caramelize...
While the onions were caramelizing, I rubbed a little oil on my rib eye and placed it on my Calphalon grill pan (another lovely wedding gift). I grilled each side for approximately 3-5 minutes and finished it off in the oven (under broil)...
I added the heavy cream and let the sauce thicken before combining the blue cheese crumbles. I added a little more blue cheese than stated...
Oh, I barely let the rib eye rest...
I topped the meal with spinach so I would feel less guilty haha! A little close-up...
I couldn't wait to dig in! Merlot optional...

I wrapped the rib eye in plastic and foil and saved it for later. Well, later became my post-call day. Here is my following grocery list: bone-in rib eye with spice rub, blue cheese crumbles, heavy cream, and a white onion.
