Bliss along the Pacific Coast Highway...

For our last full day in California, we wanted to drive along the Pacific Coast Highway to Santa Barbara.  Last year, Mr. Man and I got a convertible for the day and drove along the coast, and we thought our parents would enjoy the drive as well.

Despite the overcast and cool weather, the views were just amazing...

Our final destination was State Street in Santa Barbara.  I love all the shops and restaurants...

We had some lunch at a wine bistro we dined at last year, Pierre Lafond.  While Mr. Man dined on their lunch sandwich and soup special at that time, I indulged in their steamed mussels with red wine...

We all chose something from their appetizer list.  My mother and father started with their vegetarian chili...

Afterwards, most of the table dined on their Maryland blue crab cake, with a celery root and fennel slaw and piquillo pepper puree.  I just love the vibrant orange-red color against the white...

Of course, I had to have their steamed mussels but with white wine this time around...

After lunch we did some shopping along State Street...

After purchasing a couple of necklaces (my mother and I couldn't resist), we enjoyed our beautiful drive back to Los Angeles...

Ahh, I love California...until we meet again...
