Ja-trini-merican

This is a noun that my brother has pinned for the both of us because our parents are from Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago.  We are the first born "Yankees."  LOL!  We grew up with an eclectic menu and our mother always drew inspiration not only from her Jamaican roots, but also from my father's Trini background.

While these two countries have similarities, they definitely have their differences especially when it comes to preparing food.  After shopping at Whole Foods Market for the following ingredients, this upcoming meal truly displays those subtle differences:  naan, tomatoes, coconut milk, cilantro, white onion, and chicken thighs and legs.  Unfortunately, I didn't have any remaining curry powder from my mother, but I felt as if this curry and turmeric powder would do the trick...

Stay tuned...
