Versatility of Kale

Like I stated in my last post, I am craving fruits and vegetables with pregnancy.  One of those vegetables is kale.  I usually prepare my kale sauteed with a little olive oil, sprinkled with a little sea salt and pepper, and preferably with minced garlic (if available in the fridge)...



I love placing kale over double-cut lamb chops and creamy mashed potatoes...

Cravings...

I know I didn't address the long absence from food blogging, but Dr. Man and I found out that we were expecting late last year!!  Shortly thereafter, I experienced nausea and vomiting (TMI?) on a daily basis.  The months of October, November, and December were a bit of a blur.  Food or preparing food were the last things on my mind.  Since those feelings have subsided, I have more of an appetite.  There are foods, however, that I truly miss, but have to avoid due to pregnancy...



I definitely miss eating my juicy, medium-rare, spice-rubbed rib eye.  I loved going to Whole Foods Market after being on-call at the hospital.  I would always purchase one bone-in rib eye all for myself...




Another item of food that I miss is sushi.  I loved going to one of my favorite sushi restaurants on a free weekend and having a glass of champagne or cava.  One of my favorite rolls is the tuna hana roll from Asian Fusion.  I just love the extra slice of tuna and thin slices of avocado on top...
